A day in Punta Gorda

This is our fifth visit to Belize,

PG
FLYING IN OVER PUNTA GORDA

our third trip to Punta Gorda, and this time we’ll be staying for five weeks, diving with ReefCI and then renting an apartment and just hanging with the locals.  For our first few days here we’re staying at our favourite local inn, the Coral House Inn, before we head out to Tom Owens Caye with ReefCI. This morning when we got up, we saw that the pool palapa roof was being re-thatched. Pedro and the guys were working the traditional way, it was enthralling!

We left the guys to keep working, while we bicycled into town for the local market. The Mayan women come into town a couple of days each week to sell their homegrown fruits and veggies, and we’re looking forward to shopping with them when we’re in our rented apartment. Such a wonderful array of food!
